Days of Culture of Turkmenistan opened in the Republic of Korea

On September 16, 2026, the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan took place in the city of Gwangju, timed to coincide with the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea.The opening ceremony, held at the National Asia Culture Center in Gwangju, was attended by heads of ministries of culture and relevant agencies of the two countries, cultural and art figures, as well as numerous guests.

During the meeting between the heads of the respective ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, held as part of the event, a productive exchange of views took place on opportunities for expanding ties in the field of culture.

In the afternoon, a concert by masters of the arts was held at the National Asia Culture Center to mark the opening of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea. An exhibition of national decorative and applied arts was also organized at the venue, featuring museum exhibits, works by painters and sculptors, and national costumes.

Speakers at the festive ceremony emphasized that the cultural diplomacy actively pursued by independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan contributes to expanding multilateral relations with countries of the world and the region. In this context, the participants of the celebration expressed confidence that the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea would further strengthen the friendship between the two countries and their peoples.

According to the audience, who received positive emotions from the vocal and musical performances, such events foster a mutual interest between peoples in each other's national heritage and the achievements of contemporary art.

The concert program featured ancient and modern songs and melodies, as well as lively choreographic and folklore performances.
