On 2 November 2026, a ceremony was held in Paris to present Martin Bouygues, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the French group “Bouygues”, with the jubilee medal marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality and a commemorative badge.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the award was presented on behalf of the Head of State, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, by Maksat Charyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France.

In his remarks at the ceremony, the diplomat emphasized that the award symbolized recognition of Martin Bouygues’ outstanding contribution to strengthening interstate dialogue. Expressing gratitude to the management and staff of “Bouygues” for their longstanding constructive activities in Turkmenistan, the Ambassador particularly highlighted the company’s role in modernizing the architectural appearance of the Turkmen capital.

Over the years of cooperation, Turkmen and French specialists have gained considerable experience in implementing major projects. The address also highlighted the role of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality in strengthening peace and promoting international dialogue, the contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, to expanding international cooperation and the consistent continuation of this policy by the President of Turkmenistan.

In his response, Martin Bouygues described receiving the medal as a great honour and expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the high distinction. He noted that permanent neutrality reflects Turkmenistan’s commitment to pursuing its own path, prioritizing peace and promoting dialogue. Martin Bouygues spoke warmly of the hospitality of the Turkmen people and their cultural heritage, particularly highlighting Turkmen carpets and Akhal-Teke horses.

In an interview following the ceremony, Martin Bouygues emphasized that the award had provided the group with additional motivation to continue its activities in Turkmenistan and strengthen ties between the two countries.
