Regular Meeting of Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation Held in Capital

On June 5, 2026, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan hosted the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation. It was attended by heads of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, as well as a representative delegation that arrived in our country led by Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye.

During the meeting, it was noted that thanks to the efforts of the heads of the two states, Turkmen-Turkish partnership relations are consistently developing. In this regard, the parties emphasized the important role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission in activating bilateral interaction.

Priority areas of cooperation include construction and the building materials industry, energy, transport, the food industry, and agriculture. At the same time, bilateral ties between business and entrepreneurial structures are strengthening. The meeting touched upon issues of strengthening the positions of Turkmen and Turkish commodity producers in the markets of both countries, as well as expanding the range of supplied goods.

Within the framework of the meeting, the participants familiarized themselves with the progress of the implementation of measures provided for by the work plan adopted on the basis of the Protocol of the eighth meeting of this Commission.

The transport and logistics sphere was designated as a key vector of bilateral relations. An exchange of views took place on the issues of forming a modern transport infrastructure that ensures effective cargo transportation and connects the regions of Central Asia and Europe. The energy sector was also among the important issues discussed. The meeting participants particularly emphasized that cooperation in these areas, along with strengthening the economies of the two countries, will ensure energy and transport security throughout the Eurasian region.

Expressing the unwavering commitment of Turkmenistan and Türkiye to strengthening centuries-old relations, the members of the Commission outlined concrete steps to diversify the partnership in promising directions.

Following the results of the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation, a corresponding Protocol was signed.

During the bilateral meetings of the heads of relevant ministries and departments, the opportunities for continuing Turkmen-Turkish cooperation were discussed in detail.

The meeting participants expressed confidence that the meetings held would give a new impetus to the development of interaction in all directions for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and their peoples.
