A cultural event dedicated to the international holiday of Nowruz was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris

On March 19, 2024, on the eve of the international holiday of Nowruz, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, together with embassies and missions to UNESCO from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan, held a cultural event dedicated to the celebration of Nowruz. The event took place in the reception hall of UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

Guests of the event had the opportunity to get acquainted with the richness and diversity of cultures of the participating countries, as well as enjoy traditional dishes.

A tasting of national Turkmen cuisine and an exhibition were organized for visitors to the Turkmenistan stand, where the Embassy of Turkmenistan demonstrated hand-made carpets, national costumes, jewelry, souvenirs, as well as literary works of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Among the honored guests were Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, representatives of French ministries and departments, international organizations based in Paris, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited to UNESCO and Paris.
