A solemn ceremony of presentation of credentials to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco by H.E. Mr. Maksat Chariev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Principality of Monaco, took place at the Prince’s Palace.

During the audience, the Ambassador presented his credentials to His Serene Highness and conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Ambassador Maksat Chariev underlined Turkmenistan’s commitment to actively developing bilateral cooperation with the Principality of Monaco in various fields. In this context, special emphasis was placed on the significance of the historic visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, to Monaco in January 2025, which marked an important milestone in strengthening high-level political dialogue. A highlight of the visit was the participation of the State Equestrian Group "Galkynysh" in the 47th International Circus Festival in Monte-Carlo, where the troupe was awarded the highest distinction — the Golden Prize.

The importance of the humanitarian mission carried out in April 2025 by Mrs. Oguljahan Atabaeva, Vice President of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was also noted. This visit affirmed the shared commitment of Turkmenistan and Monaco to supporting children, promoting inclusive healthcare, and enhancing social welfare cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the recent visit to Turkmenistan by Mr. Joël Bouzou, Advisor to Prince Albert II and President of the international organization “Peace and Sport.” During his visit, substantive meetings were held with the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, including discussions on the potential organization of an International Conference on “Peace and Sport” in Ashgabat in 2026.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador presented to His Serene Highness two official invitations:

– to attend the High-Level International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality by the UN General Assembly, to be held on 12 December 2025 in Ashgabat;

– and to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will take place from 5 to 8 August 2025 on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

In return, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II expressed sincere gratitude for the conveyed greetings and kind wishes, emphasizing the strong and positive dynamics of the relationship between Turkmenistan and Monaco. He also asked that his warm regards be conveyed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan, expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of cooperation between the two friendly nations.
